Dallas – The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) is pleased to announce the 2024-25 Pocono Forests and Waters Conservation Landscape (PFWCL) Mini Grant Awardees. PEC was awarded a total of $60,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) through their Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2) to administer the 2024-2025 Pocono Forests and Waters Conservation Landscape (PFWCL) Mini Grant Program. The DCNR funding is provided through the Environmental Stewardship Fund administered by the Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.

The PFWCL mini-grant program is administered by PEC as a reimbursement funding program that provides grants from $2,000 to $10,000 for projects that support and advance the Conservation, Community, and Connections goals and objectives of the PFWCL. Projects also must be located within the counties of Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne.

Stewards of Twin Lakes, Inc., $5,495 for Twin Lakes Watershed Community Education and Pilot Remediation Program.

The project will focus on two distinct, but related, efforts:

  2. Identifying and mapping point source stormwater contributors and developing specific solutions via the implementation of two unique pilot demonstration projects of remediation.
